Lush Goodies- Lush review!

Asalam waliykum sisters,

It has been a super long time! Really missed blogging, However, I am back with a fabulous Lush review to kick things off!
My Lush collection has grown over the past year and a bit. I have now officially tried all the products, well all the products that best suit my skin type.

I am loving Lush more and more, along with the on going campaign to stop animal testing. Lush have stepped things up and started a campaign against the use of drones. Their slogan used is "Welcome to the drone age". Please follow the link Here! to find out more.

This review will be on 3 products that I have been using ongoing for the last few months and have become my firm favourites.

The first product is the Honey Shampoo called "fair trade honey". A gentle moisturising Shampoo for all hair types. Basically this bottle is full of goodies for the hair and scalp.

"With lashings of honey in here for its lovely effects on the hair – the natural properties of honey also means we didn't need to put any preservative in this product.A shampoo this good deserved the finest of perfumes.  So Simon has created a geranium/honey perfume with beeswax absolute, geranium, rose, bergamot and neroli.  This is a no expense spared shampoo."

Alhamdulillah, since I started to use Lush shampoo my hair has been in pretty good shape. Plus it has helped skipping hot styling tools. I had high expectations of this product, as the label says it contains honey. Most of us will know that honey is not only good to consume but it is amazing for external use, it is known to prevent infection, heal cuts and scars, natural moisturisers and much, much more.
The smell is what you would expect, a nice strong warm honey. Just the smell alone makes you feel good. As you can see above, the shampoo is sold in 3 sizes, I always opt for the large size (600g) as it works out much cheaper and usually lasts me 4-5 months which is amazing.
The texture of the shampoo is nice, smooth and silky. It foams up very well. You only need a tiny amount, hence why it lasts so long. the smell is intense when lathering up in the hair. The bottle states not to repeat as it is very concentrated and will do the Job with just one use, and i can verify that too.
The final verdict!- Fair trade honey is a keeper, I do hope they continue this product. I am really picky about shampoo, this one suits my hair and scalp, does not dry it out or make it oily. One con is the price tag, the large bottle is £23.50. However, it has lasted me 5 months and has another 3-4 weeks before I run out. Basically works out around £4 a month which is very good for a product like this.

The second Product is a shower gel called "The Olive Branch" not only a shower gel but also a shampoo. packed full of Olive oil goodness, this product is gentle, moisturising and freshening.
"There’s a lot of top quality olive oil in this bottle, but it does like to sit at the top on its own. So, before you use, give it a good ol’ shake to get the oil mixed back through. It’s worth the trouble of shaking it because this gel can be used on both body and hair and that olive oil is going to be great for leaving your hair soft and moisturised."

This smells AMAZINGLY good! It feels great on the skin and hair and your skin is left very moisturized and clean after you shower. I love, love, love this product. If you check out the details the Olive oil used is from a community fair trade project involving both Jewish israeli and Arab communities Please check out this link Here to find out more about this brilliant project.
You need to give the bottle a good shake before use to mix the olive oil and the rest of the goodies. A little goes a long way with the product, although seems very diluted it is packed with goodness and has a very strong Olive and Mandarin smell that lasts even after showering. the 500g bottle (the largest) used daily last 9/10 weeks. I believe it is worth the price as it lasts a long time for me. Previously I used "original source" shower gels and they only last 3/4 weeks. You do the math.
The final verdict!- I was a little sceptical if this could really work well on the hair as others I have tried before have always let me down. Not with the olive branch, this works well as both hair and body gel. Another favourite I would like to continue to use.

The Final product is a fresh face mask called "Cosmetic warrior" a brilliant face mask for chaotic skin, prone to freak breakouts and that is a little unpredictable.

Yes, as you can see from the photo above, there is garlic in it, as well as tea tree oil. There is also some eggs and honey. All the ingredients are brilliant for problematic skin, acne skin, oily skin. Ok, it does smell like garlic and tea tree oil, for some I know the smell will be enough to put them off. Personally I do not mind the smell, it smells fresh, clean and smells like it will do some good bacteria busting on my skin! Do not worry, once the product is washed off it will not leave any stench!

It is very thick, and like all Lush masks must be kept in the fridge. So when you pop it on will cool the face, and calm the skin instantly. Use a good thick layer, one pot lasts me 2 weeks, and the shelf life is only 2 weeks, although you could get away with keeping it 3 weeks.

The mask is great as it absorbs excess oil, cleans the skin really well and clears out pores. leave on for 10-15 mins and wash off. It will start to dry out when it is ready to be washed off. I like to use a warm cloth to remove the mask and then just rinse with cool water.

The skin feels super clean and fresh, but not tight as it has honey in it so will not dry out the skin.

The verdict!- I am having a bit of a war with my skin at the moment due to ongoing stress, so this has been such a help and my skin is on the mend. I will continue to use this especially during the warmer months. I do not mind the smell, leaves my skin feeling great, nice and squeaky clean and fresh, lasts 2 weeks so good value for money and is 100% natural and fresh. What more can you ask for from a face mask?

That concludes the review, let me know what you think.
